a walk with a walk - beginning

I walk as once we walked
along by the river tumbling over carelessly tossed stones

Alone now then side by side
holding hearts in hand shadows growing longer in unison before us

all things thine hand
do live does satisfy
in season that lives
to relieve great liberality

his ways is just
each one and holy
he is near all that do
in truth and call

God will desire fulfill
serve and fear him serve
he will regard and hear
be near the time

writing in Florence

savoy to my left, archway to my right
piazza before me, people linger along
birds spy crumbs as they drop
they snap them up in their beaks
before they touch the ground
all the crumbs this pastry gives away
that miss my lips
i would be scolded for making such a mess -
O' to have had such birds around
when i was a kid come to think of it
my kids might wish the same!

how can one feel
so much
at home
yet so
uncomfortable
so
out-of-place
at the same time

funny system - got my coffee and snack - they
gave me a ticket #27 on a pink square
then told me to give it to the waiter outside
- no waiter - ... couple at next table left
leaving some kind of food on their plate - birds
some of them descended upon the table - brought
waiter quickly :) where did he go?
